– The Lake and the Magnet

Relaxing lake to visualize

We can visualise the great outdoors to help us relax, feel better and manage our emotions. One scene that works particularly well is a lake…

Visualise a scene of a lake in your head.

It could be a lake you have visited, seen on the TV, or in a book or magazine. Picture as much detail as you can to bring it to life. The image in your head should make you feel good.

Imagine right at the bottom of the lake in the centre, there is an enormous magnet. It is so powerful that it is able to draw from your body any negative thoughts, negative feelings, or negative energy.  Let them be drawn from your body and onto the powerful magnet at the bottom of the lake. Where do you feel them leaving your body? How does it feel once they have left your body? Keep going until they have all gone. Now turn the scene of the lake into a picture or photograph, and then explode it into a million pieces so it disappears.

Next picture a large golden ball of light hovering above your head (like a glowing sun). Imagine that this ball of light contains all the positive thoughts feelings and energy that you need right now.  Picture it passing down into your body, traveling from the top of your head all the way to your feet, leaving behind a lovely positive golden glow and wonderful feelings, filling any spaces made by the magnet.  What does your body look like full of this golden light and how does it make you feel?
