We have thousands of thoughts every day. Thoughts have a big impact on how we feel and then how we behave. Did you know that we can change how we feel and how we behave by just changing what we think?
This is how thoughts work – We have a thought, which then makes us feel something, then, how we feel, directly influences what we do.
Managing our thoughts can be difficult and it takes quite a lot of practice to get good at it. Exploring how different thoughts make us feel is a very good first step.
Preparing some alternative thoughts in situations we find ourselves in regularly can be very useful. Keep a list of thoughts which make you feel good and look at them regularly to help you to be able to feel better in lots of situations.
You could also ask other people around you for suggestions. Explore how they think in different situations to see if their thoughts could work for YOU.
